Reviews

"With humor and creativity, Gerbase and Assis Brasil narrate the eternal - but very brief - passions of a kid with an irresistible tendency to fall in love at first sight. Using exclusively the images and the voice-over of a narrator, the filmmakers succeed in communicating to the spectator a huge amount of information about the behavior, values and daily life of a certain segment of the city’s population. INTERLUDE is a clever exercise in filmmaking and a healthy lesson on the power of synthesis."
(Ivo Egon Stigger, FOLHA DA TARDE, Porto Alegre, 25/03/83)

"It is through simplicity (that the film) succeeds in its critical stance, showing how consumerism is present in relationships. This theme is made plainly clear, for instance, during the physical description of the characters: glycerin hair, washing soda eyes. People end up seeing themselves as products: they use and are used."
(Arlene Freitas Lima, CINE IMAGINÁRIO, Rio de Janeiro, junho/86)
