ILHA DAS FLORES (ISLAND OF FLOWERS) has 2 thousand screenings in 3 days on the Internet
(31/Aug/2002)The project PORTA-CURTAS PETROBRAS (http://www.portacurtas.com.br), the newest system of exhibition of Brazilian short films on the Internet, registered in only 3 days on air a total of 5813 screenings initiated for the 22 films available in this first stage. The most accessed film was precisely ISLAND OF FLOWERS, by Jorge Furtado, with 2060 screenings.
Other Casa de Cinema de Porto Alegre productions are also among the shorts selected and they can be seen at the Porta-Curtas Petrobras: BARBOSA, by Jorge Furtado and Ana Luiza Azevedo (the 7th most accessed until now), TRÊS MINUTOS (THREE MINUTES), by Ana Luiza Azevedo (in 8th place) and O DIA EM QUE DORIVAL ENCAROU A GUARDA (THE DAY DORIVAL FACED THE GUARD), by Jorge Furtado and José Pedro Goulart (in 11th).
The official release of the service Porta-Curtas Petrobras will be on September 9th, at 8 PM at the Cine Odeon BR (Rio de Janeiro), with a cocktail immediately after the screening which will show five of the best Brazilian shorts of all time - chosen by a Jury especially invited by the Porta Curtas project.
