O HOMEM QUE COPIAVA / THE MAN WHO COPIED is the best Brazilian movie of the year

THE MAN WHO COPIED, a Casa de Cinema de Porto Alegre production, is the best Brazilian film of 2003, voted by the Academia Brasileira de Cinema [Brazilian Film Academy]. Last night, the film won the Prêmio TAM do Cinema Brasileiro [TAM Prize for Brazilian Films], at a ceremony in the Cine Odeon BR, in Rio de Janeiro.

As well as the Best Film award, THE MAN WHO COPIED won five other prizes: Best Director (Jorge Furtado, who shared the award with Hector Babenco for Carandiru), Best Supporting Actress (Luana Piovani), Best Supporting Actor (Pedro Cardoso), Best Original Screenplay (Jorge Furtado) and Best Editing (Giba Assis Brasil).
