Somebody tells a personal story, something interesting that happened at work, at home, during a trip, on a vacation, on the street, anything. Then someone else comes along telling the same story, absolutely the same – with a few different details, but with the same ending. Last, a third person tells the same story, equal in everything – almost.

Or the three alternate, telling the same story, repeating the same details, phrases, gestures – actually, the three are telling the same story all along.

It isn’t possible: of course one of these people is lying. Better yet: at least two of them are lying. The program guarantees (and, in the end, proves it): ONE OF THE THREE is telling the truth, the others are actors hired to fool you. The fun is finding out which is which.

UM DOS TRÊS / One of the Three premiered Sunday, November 6, 2005, on "Fantástico". And it is still showing every Sunday, as a special segment on Globo TV’s weekly electronic variety magazine.
