On the year’s coldest day, cobbler Simão gathers what little money he has and goes to the city to buy a blanket for his little boy. On the way, he meets a stranger named Miguel, who says he is a fallen angel who disobeyed God’s will. The population of Linha Bonita, a village of Italian colonists in the Rio Grande do Sul mountain range, is witness to and performs the angel’s revelation of the three divine words to the cobbler and to his wife Maria.
