ANA LUIZA AZEVEDO

Director and writer. She directed the shorts DONA CRISTINA PERDEU A MEMÓRIA/DONA CRISTINA LOST HER MEMORY (2002), TRÊS MINUTOS/THREE MINUTES (1999) and BARBOSA (1988) and the medium-length documentary VENTRE LIVRE/LIBERATION (1994). She directed television programs for the electoral campaigns of the Partido dos Trabalhadores from 1992 to 2000. She directed several specials for television, including DIA DE VISITA (2001) for Globo TV and O BOCHECHA (2002) for RBS TV. She has been working in films since 1984, working as assistant director on several films, including the shorts ILHA DAS FLORES/ISLAND OF FLOWERS (1989), the miniseries LUNA CALIENTE (2000) and the features TOLERÂNCIA/TOLERANCE (2000), O HOMEM QUE COPIAVA/THE MAN WHO COPIED (2003), BENS CONFISCADOS (2004) and MEU TIO MATOU UM CARA/MY UNCLE KILLED A GUY (2005). She is currently preparing her first feature film project, ANTES QUE O MUNDO ACABE/BEFORE THE WORLD ENDS.

CARLOS GERBASE

Director and writer. PhD in Communications at PUC/RS, coordinator of the Audiovisual Production Program at that university. Director of the feature films VERDES ANOS/GREEN YEARS (1984) and TOLERÂNCIA/TOLERANCE (2000) and also the Super-8 feature INVERNO/WINTER (1983). Writer and director of the 35 mm shorts INTERLÚDIO/INTERLUDE (1983), PASSAGEIROS/PASSENGERS (1985), AULAS MUITO PARTICULARES/VERY PRIVATE LESSONS (1988), O CORPO DE FLÁVIA/FLAVIA’S BODY (1990), DEUS EX-MACHINA (1995) and SEXO & BEETHOVEN - O REENCONTRO/SEX & BEETHOVEN – THE REUNION (1997). He co-wrote screenplays for Globo TV, including the miniseries MEMORIAL DE MARIA MOURA (1994) and ENGRAÇADINHA (1995).
