Mark Lang é um pintor canadense, nascido em 1966. Ele tem grande domínio de sua técnica (óleo sobre tela, quadros não maiores que 1 m x 1m), e faz algumas releituras divertidas do mundo das artes.
 
Seu quadro “Collaborative Fiction”, por exemplo, mostra o momento que Olympia e sua empregada foram dar uma olhadinha para ver como estava ficando o retrato que lhe fazia Edouard Manet.

Biographical Information
 
Mark Lang was born in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada in 1966. He now lives in Montreal, where he and his wife have raised a family. He was educated at the Alberta College of Art and Design in Calgary, and The School of Visual Arts in New York City, and received scholarships and awards at both institutions.
 
He worked throughout the nineties as a freelance illustrator for many well known publications in The United States and Canada, and began exhibiting as a painter in 1995. Since then he has been exhibiting regularly and no longer does illustration work.  Early on, he received public support for his painting from the Conseil des Arts et des Lettres du Quebec, and is a three time recipient of the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Grant. His paintings can now be found in many collections in Canada, the United States and abroad.
